Eastside Dodge was selected as the only Canadian dealership to be invited by Dealer.com to attend "Dealer Days" in Mountain View - California - home of Google. Only 100 invitations were sent out and we secured 2 spots; travelling with me is our General Manager - Mike McManes.
We left Calgary this morning and arrived in San Francisco just around 2:00pm. We decided we would make the 45 minute drive to the city of Mountain View right away (skipping lunch) because we weren't keen on getting stuck in rush hour traffic. Our taxi driver didn't know the exact location of our hotel, so it was handy that Mike had his iPhone's Google Maps app on the go so we could find the hotel.
After checking in, we headed straight to downtown Mountain View in search of lunch. The funny thing is that the restaurants and pubs close their kitchens in the afternoon until 5:00pm... we had no choice, but to wait. The wait was worth it though!
Now, we are back at the hotel for a relaxing night as tomorrow is promising to be quite busy. As I am typing this blog, I receive tomorrow's itenerary... check it out:
From 9:30am to 4:00pm, we will be attending 11 different seminars on Internet Marketing, have 1 hour for lunch and at the end of the day, get to tour Google Headquarters. Oh yeah, looks like we get to do a little shopping at the Google Store... any requests? =)
Well, I should get some sleep... tomorrow's blog should be quite interesting. I am hoping to be able to take some photos at Google... but I don't know how strict they will be about that.
